This UK walking holiday starts in Plymouth, Wembury or Ivybridge, in Devon on the southern edge of Dartmoor. The hiking trail crosses some of the remotest parts of Dartmoor before you walk across the unspoilt rural countryside between Dartmoor National Park and Exmoor National Park. Then the walking route crosses Exmoor to finish in Lynmouth on the north coast of Devon.
Day 1: Arrive at Wembury, Plymouth or Ivybridge
To start this walking holiday on the south coast of Devon you can begin at either Wembury or Plymouth. These are 2 good places to intersect with the South West Coast Path. Alternatively you can start from Ivybridge if you wish to skip this section from the coast and start on the Two Moors Way "proper".

Day 3: Ivybridge to Scorriton     12 miles
The Two Moors Way heads up onto open moorland initially following an old tramway past several Bronze Age hut circles, stone rows and cairns. You will also see evidence of tin mining activity and disused china clay workings. Then the walking trail makes its way into the quaint Dartmoor village of Scorriton.

You can visit Widecombe-in-the-Moor, a short detour, before a stunning walk along Hamel Down and past Grimspound, one of the best preserved Bronze Age enclosures on Dartmoor. Today's walk ends at the 13th century Bennett's Cross.
Day 5: Bennett's Cross to Chagford     7 miles
Today you are walking across Chagford Common where you will see a well preserved double stone row and hut circles. Then you drop down into the wooded and picturesque Teign Valley which you follow into Chagford. Chagford was one of the Stannery towns to which all tin found on Dartmoor had to be brought for assay and stamping in Mediaeval times. Later it became an important centre for the wool industry. At Chagford the Two Moors Way intersects with the Dartmoor Way.
